Along with most card games, blackjack is regarded as a game of skill. As noted in blackjack rules, the one with the hand closes to 21 without exceeding 21 wins. For the player to be triumphant, he only needs to beat the blackjack dealer regardless of what the other players have. In a situation where both the player and the dealer have the same score, it is a push and there is no winner.
The cards in blackjack are assigned different values. The numerical cards are based on their number. For example, a card with a 6 is worth 6 points. An ace is worth either a 1 or an 11. As for the face cards like Jacks, Queens and Kings, their value is 10 points. The betting takes place on a blackjack table that accommodates up to 6 players. Six or eight deck of cards is used and is shuffled jointly by the blackjack dealer. These cards are stored in a card dispensing box known as a “Shoe.”
To begin play, all card players must first put up a bet. The dealer then deals the bettors two cards facing up. The dealer also receives two cards, one facing up and one facing down. Next, the bettors either stays, maintaining the current hand, or obtain more cards in attempt to get closer to 21 without busting. Players still in play wait for the dealer’s turn. The dealer flips up the down card once all the participants are finished. Respecting the house rule, the dealer must draw on counts of 16 or lower. On counts of 17 or higher, the dealer is obligated to stay.
There are several options that the player has during the game of blackjack. One is to double down. The player doubles the bet, takes exactly one more card, and then stand.
The other is known as a split. This option is accessible to those if both cards have the same value. The hand is split to form a new hand and an additional wager of the same value is made. Instead of playing one hand, the player is engaged in two hands.
The winner is the one closest to a total of 21. Once the sum exceeds 21 results in the player losing automatically. If the first two cards distributed are an ace and a 10, the result is a Blackjack and the player wins unless the house matches it. Getting a Blackjack results in winning one and a half times your bet. Beating the dealer is to win one time your bet. A tie means you get your bet returned. |
