ULTIMATE POKER ROOMS

In terms of notoriety and popularity, no other betting game can match the success of Texas Holdem poker. Big money Texas Holdem tournaments were televised, exposing millions of people to this exciting pastime. Furthermore, quite a few winners of these big prized tournaments first started playing at online poker sites. This highlights the fact that just about anybody from all walks of life can aspire to the elite world of Texas Holdem competition. Just imagine starting off playing small bet Texas Holdem games online and going to becoming a winner of million dollar televised tournaments.

This thrilling poker game is usually played between 2 and 10 participants even though in theory it can accommodate up to 22 players. The goal of Texas Holdem poker is to win the pot of money. This is achieved through building the best poker hand out of the 7 cards on hand, or causing other players to abandon their claim to the pot through betting. Like other poker games, the betting order is set during all betting rounds.

Before card playing begins, all players are required to make bets. To start, a small blind is made by the player to the left of the dealer and is half the dollar amount of the big blind. The big blind, the minimum betting amount, is made by the player situated to the immediate left of the small blind player. This process is repeated for each round of play.

Once all the players make their bets, everybody is dealt two cards face down after the dealer deals a burn card. Next the dealer deals a flop where three face-up community cards are dealt. Players then decide whether to stay, fold or bet based on the cards they have or their playing strategy. The process is repeated in the second round where a fourth community card is dealt known as a turn. In the third and final round, the process is repeated again where another community card is dealt. This fifth and final card is known as the river. In this round, a showdown occurs to determine the winner of this hand.

In Texas Holdem, the player with the two strong high cards has the best odds of building a competitive hand. If you have good cards, you should play them aggressively. This means getting in on all the raises you possibly can. With aggressive play, this gives you credibility going into the next round. With less competitors going into the final round, your chances of winning are stronger.
